Dwayne Sansone brings over 25 years of diverse and extensive experience, including significant expertise in the healthcare industry. Renowned for his ability to quickly master new industries, technologies and functional areas, Dwayne excels in leading the flawless execution of strategic objectives. His distinguished career spans public accounting, Wall Street investment banking, senior leadership roles with top health insurance payors and serving as a Managing Director at Virgo Investment Group.
Notably, during a transformative tenure at Aetna, Dwayne led key acquisitions and structured sophisticated business relationships with Fortune 500 companies and foreign entities in his role as Vice President of Corporate Development. Dwayne then transitioned into operations and served as Chief Operating Officer for Aetna’s $8 billion, 17-state Medicaid division, responsible for all day-to-day operations, provider network, technology, integration, and strategy departments. Within this role, Dwayne also led the start-up of new health plans in California, Nevada, and Maryland.
Dwayne earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, where he was a Michigan Scholar, and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Citibank Fellow. Dwayne is also a certified public accountant, was recognized as a 1999 National Black MBA Scholar, and has been a featured speaker at Health 2.0, Carlyle Health Summit, and Centura Health Future of Medicine.
