For Release: September 15, 2020
Swift Medical is proud to announce that we have been certified as a Great Place to Work® after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. Great Place to Work® is the global authority on workplace culture, employee experience, and leadership behaviours proven to deliver market-leading revenue and innovation. This certification is based on direct feedback from employees, provided as part of an extensive and anonymous survey about their workplace experience.
Great Place to Work® survey results showed that Swift’s employees feel pride in their jobs, enjoy camaraderie with colleagues, and feel management is supporting them. They also value Swift’s fair and inclusive work environment.
“Swift cares about what you want to accomplish in your career,” says Connor Lovoy, Senior DevOps Engineer at Swift. “Wherever life leads you within or beyond our team, Swift supports your growth and success.”
Swift is also proud to announce that our organization has been named on the 2020 list of Best Workplaces in Healthcare. We share this honour with other industry leaders such as Novartis, Stryker, Dialogue, Think Research, Zymeworks and Medtronic. Canada’s healthcare sector includes not only those working in the front lines of patient care, but those who support health care providers and patients, including pharmaceutical and medical technology companies like Swift. It is estimated that nearly 15% of Canadians work in this sector.
Swift was certified in its first attempt to be named a Great Place to Work®, a certification that is a required prerequisite to be considered for the 2020 list of Best Workplaces in Healthcare. Many companies are not certified by GPTW after their first survey, so being certified immediately and included on this list is a validation of Swift’s culture and purpose.
“Our goal in participating this year was to ensure we were doing as well as we had hoped and create a baseline to continually improve upon,” says Carlo Perez, Founder and CEO of Swift. “However, to be both certified and named to the Best Workplaces in Healthcare was an added bonus and something that we are extremely proud of.”
Swift’s mission is to alleviate the global prevalence of chronic wounds and the challenge of treating wounds effectively. We use state of the art computer vision and AI to capture wound images and measurements without the doctor or nurse having to touch the wound. And we digitize, track and automate the entire wound care management workflow, creating better patient outcomes and improving the efficiency of clinicians and healthcare administrators.
The final question on the survey simply asks, “What makes this organization a great place to work?” The majority of employees focussed on purpose and mission in their response:
“Working on a tool that helps increase the quality of life for the most vulnerable segments of society is fulfilling.”
“The impact of the work we’re doing here makes the work we do unique, and really makes it a special place to work.”
“There is a genuine desire to make the world a better place.
Swift’s dedicated, team-run Culture Committee is now reviewing the survey results in detail and will be working to develop new programs and initiatives to address areas that were below the industry averages.
“Even though we are super happy to be recognized with Certification and the Best Workplaces in Healthcare list, we know that employee experience and culture is something that we need to continually nurture and improve on,” says Cathy Phan, Product Manager and member of the Culture Committee at Swift.
