Company History

Swift Medical Inc. began at a kitchen table in the home of its CEO Carlo Perez, over a hot pot dinner and with Carlo’s baby daughter sleeping just a few feet away. Carlo and two of the company’s other co-founders, Justin Allport and Edwin Liang, had been working on visioning technology and decided it was time to bring their innovation to market. They didn’t determine what application to focus on, however, until a meeting shortly after with Sheila Wang, an Oxford University postdoctoral fellow who had been researching chronic wounds. Her work, which underlined the global prevalence of chronic wounds and the challenges of treating wounds effectively, set the market direction for Swift.
